Notifications
For users: every notification you get on the network, a new intro request, an org invitation, an event’s waitlist opening up, shows up in one inbox, and each one also goes to your email.
The bell
Section titled “The bell”The nav bar’s bell shows how many notifications you have not read yet. It checks again every 60 seconds while the tab is open and whenever you move to a new page. Open /notifications to read them.
Marking read
Section titled “Marking read”Each unread notification has a Mark read button, and Mark all read clears the whole list at once. From a terminal:
vn notifications listvn notifications list --unreadvn notifications readvn notifications read <id> <id>vn notifications read with no ids marks everything read. The MCP tools are list_notifications and mark_notifications_read.
What sends a notification
Section titled “What sends a notification”A new intro request, an intro accepted or declined, an org invitation, a join request received (if you own or admin the org), your join request approved or declined, your organization application approved or declined, an event you RSVPed to being cancelled, and moving from an event’s waitlist to going.
What does not exist yet
Section titled “What does not exist yet”There is no per-kind setting to turn a notification’s email off. Every kind listed above sends by email exactly where this page says it does, for every member, with nothing to configure.
